Why choose LWP?

Why choose us?

Seriously! It’s a totally legitimate question! Nowadays there is a proverbial SEA of photographers out there. One on every corner. Your mom’s sister’s friend’s cousin is PROBABLY a photographer.  With the dawn of the DSLR, came a mass birth of photographers, including myself. So what makes me different?

First of all, I LOVE what I do! Yeah sure, ok. So that doesn’t really make me too different. Lots of photographers love what they do. It doesn’t mean they are good at it. But you know what? For the first time in my life I can be confident and say that this is something Im REALLY good it. Possibly one of the only things. It EXCITES me! I love working with clients and really turning their vision into something special. Each session is unique. Everyone gets there own custom session. As a creative spirit, i tend to have to mix things up frequently so I don’t get bored. You will walk away with a unique set of images that no one else has. They will be vibrant! They will be crisp! They will be full of life and color. I aim to capture your moments in a way you will never forget. There is a style out there for everyone. I really love a bright, cheerful whimsical photos. I work closely with you to ensure that you get everything you hope for out of a session. And even if you don’t have any ideas of your own, I will work with you to match your personal style. I have to love the images just as much as you do. I want to give you the best of me. And I will strive for that every single session. Im LITTLE WHIMSIES for heaven’s sake! I take photos and make them pop. Every moment is more memorable with a touch of whimsy. I promise.

I LOVE my clients. No really, I do. Do you know what I wanted to be my freshman year in college? An accountant. The end of my freshman year I thought to myself, “I don’t want to work with people! I don’t like people. I want to sit behind a desk and crunch numbers and be done with it”. Holy moly! Was I wrong! Turns out I would be wrong a few more times after that too. But thats a whole other story. I didn’t know how to interact with people because I was never a very confident person. But then something strange happened. I found something I was actually good at. Something that didn’t make me nervous. It only took multiple years of unnecessary schooling and tens of thousands of dollars but I did it. And it turns out…. I LOVE PEOPLE! Each new client that comes in is a new friend. I really strive to make everyone who walks through my doors feel comfortable and welcome. I want them to feel as if we’ve known each other for ages and wash away any awkwardness of every first encounter. Ive made quite a few good friends through this job. Something you could have never convinced me of 10 years ago.

There is something for everyone. Everyone wants a “reasonable” photographer. Reasonable is a pretty relative term. I have tried to give options for every price point in terms of pricing. I want you to be able to afford to make these beautiful memories. You may be able to go somewhere cheaper. Heck you can probably get someone to do them for free! But will they be the same? Will you have the same beautiful, well lit, well posed, flattering photos of your little cherubs? Or will you have harsh shadows, awkward posing, up the nose, blemished shots that you can probably do yourself. If you’re going to put money out, do it right. Almost all of us have a digital camera. But a camera does not a photographer make! My posing is meticulous. My editing is detailed, My lighting is calculated and my methods make your moments pop right off the screen. I never thought in my life Id be so confident in something I have created but I promise you I strive to set myself apart from the rest. I focus on quality over quantity. You may receive fewer images than with my competitors but  they will be nothing but quality. I promise a variety of beautiful images that you will be proud to show off.

I have a lot of experience. At this point Ive probably shot close to 300 newborns. And done over 100 cake smashes. In total, I couldn’t even guess how many shots Ive taken. And with each session I learn a little more. I didn’t start out like this. I took my learning process very seriously. I didnt charge a dime until I was confident I could produce consistently satisfactory results for each and every client. And that hasn’t changed! I want to make sure you get the most for your money. I will not rest until you are completely satisfied. Im not done learning. I may never be! But I promise you I aim to please!
There are cheaper options out there. But you have to ask yourself what you are REALLY getting. Is it what you want? Is it your style? Are they a legitimate business? Tax paying? Insured? Experienced? In the end you really do get what you pay for. You can read more about choosing a photographer here.
So why choose Little Whimsies? Because you should! Because I want to make your memories whimsical! Come on! You know you want to! I would love to work with you and your family. So give me a call or click on the contact button and lets start this beautiful journey together 🙂

  • Laura Tordjman - Hello,

I found your website online while browsing for maternity and newborn photography. I would be interested in both sessions. I have questions regarding the maternity session.
    – Is it done in studio or outdoors? I plan to do the maternity session in April so I thought it could be a good time for an outdoor session.
    – If this is something you offer, what spots do you recommend in the NYC area (max 30 min drive from Manhattan)? I am looking for a forrest-like area, or countryside-like space, maybe near a water source (I could email you pictures of the type of setting I am looking for).
    – Also do you provide the outfits?

    Please let me know.

    Thank you,

    LauraReplyCancel

  • Maria - What services come with your maternity package? Are there outdoor options? Is there make up, gowns, etc included????ReplyCancel
